Building Formations
When making formations, stick to one faction per team. You get bonus buffs when your formation is made up of heroes from the same faction.
If you’re free-to-play (F2P), it’s best to focus on Wings of Dawn or Blood Rose heroes. They’re easier to get and can still perform really well.
A full Wings of Dawn formation works well because most F2P players tend to use Blood Rose heroes, and Wings of Dawn counters Blood Rose. Since Wings of Dawn is a good counter to Blood Rose, this makes a full Wings of Dawn team especially strong against other F2P players who usually run Blood Rose formations.
Only invest in the heroes you actually use in your main formation — that means all your EXP, skill books, power cores, and equipment should go to them only.
Avoid upgrading Guard of Order heroes if you’re F2P since they’re hard to collect and not easy to use for faction buffs.
Faction Buffs
Heroes from the same faction give the following bonuses:
- 5 heroes of the same faction: +115% ATK and +10% faction bonus
- 4 heroes of the same faction: +110% ATK and +7% faction bonus
- 3 heroes of the same faction: +107% ATK and +5% faction bonus
Troop Synergy
Matching your heroes with the right troop type is super important.
Each faction works best with certain troops:
- Blood Rose → Assaulters
- Wings of Dawn → Shooters
- Guard of Order → Riders
This is because their 3rd and 4th skills usually boost those specific troop types.
So if you’re a F2P player using Blood Rose or Wings of Dawn, fill your formation with Assaulters or Shooters to get more ATK, HP, and DEF buffs.
Star Upgrades
When raising star levels, get all your formation heroes to 4★ first.
That’s because 4★ unlocks each hero’s 4th skill — and that’s a big deal.
Going from 4★ to 5★ doesn’t give nearly as much improvement compared to unlocking all 4th skills.
Faction Counters
Each faction counters another one:
- Wings of Dawn → beats Blood Rose
- Blood Rose → beats Guard of Order
- Guard of Order → beats Wings of Dawn
The counter gives a 10% battle bonus against the opposing faction.
If you don’t have all heroes from one faction, you can mix 3 heroes of one faction and 2 from another.
For example:
- Fighting mostly Wings of Dawn? Use 3 Wings of Dawn + 2 Blood Rose.
- Fighting mostly Blood Rose? This combo works too.
Upgrading Hero Equipment
Always max out your equipment level before promoting it. The reason is simple — once you promote the equipment, the cost to level it up becomes higher. So upgrade first, promote later.
Equipment Tips
Equip gear that matches your hero type:
- Attack-type heroes: use your best gun equipment for the attack boost.
- Defense-type heroes: use your best armor or boots for the defense boost.
If you have two high-rarity (orange) items — say one gun and one armor — give the gun to your attack hero and the armor to your tank/defense hero.
Getting Hero Fragments (for Star Upgrades)
To upgrade your heroes faster, play as many events as you can.
You can get orange fragments (used for star upgrades) from:
- Daily tasks — reward chests often contain fragments.
- Full Preparedness event — gives lots of orange, purple, and blue fragments.
- Boomer Events — kill Boomers daily for orange fragments.
- Truck Missions — reward fragments too.
- Big events like VS Event, SvS, Canyon Clash, and Capital Clash.
- Black Market — buy fragments with diamonds.
Upgrading Equipment
There are two parts to equipment upgrades:
- Equipment Level – needs Enhancement Alloys, which are rewards from most events.
- Equipment Promotion – needs Power Cores, which are rare. You can get them from events like The Tyrant, Merit Shop, or other special events.
